• Who can I contact at the Environment Protection Authority for further information?

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) can provide you with a range of information relating to groundwater contamination.

The EPA also has a library which contains a range of reports and literature available on various environmental related topics including copies of our reports.


The Environment Protection Authority is located at 200 Victoria Street, Carlton. For questions relating to Altona Properties contact Mr Myles Whelan on 61-3-9695 2722.

To obtain further information from Council you should contact Mr Craig Bruckner of the Hobsons Bay City Council on 61-3-9932 1000.

• Where else can I go for information?

Altona Properties is an observer at meetings of the Altona Complex Neighbourhood Consultative Group (ACNCG); a group formed in 1989 to facilitate communication on health, safety and environmental issues.

The ACNCG comrpises the Altona Chemical Complex companies, BASF, Dow Chemical and Qenos, as well as residents, EPA, WorkCover, and Hobsons Bay City Council.

Further information on the ACNCG can be obtained from the ACNCG Minute Secretary, Hobson Bay City Council on 61-3-9932 1000.
